WHAT IS COVID 19?

According to the Postulations by the World Health Organization (WHO), the Corona Virus or the Covid -19 is an infectious disease associated with the symptoms of cough and cold – initially associated with the SARS COV 2 virus.

People will face several respiratory illnesses like cough and cold, and breathing problems, while some might face mortality due to the co-morbidity diseases that people have ( e.g. Diabetes).

The only way to prevent the onset of this disease within the body is to protect oneself by wearing masks in public places, using sanitizer, and maintaining social isolation.

The SARS COV 2 Virus has mutated several times, and come up with multiple variants.

This article talks about the New Covid Variant that was detected in France.

WHAT IS THE NEW COVID VARIANT?

New Covid Variant

The New Covid Variant is detected in France, which is termed IHU, is believed to have more mutations than the latest Omicron virus.

This version of the virus has been reported to have occurred through travel to African Countries. However, Scientists don’t possibly think that this variant will be threatening to lives.

More so, this variant is not reported in other countries yet, as per the regulations and investigations carried out by the World Health Organization.

The Omicron Variant is more infectious, but these variant has not yet posed a major threat to lives.

Recently, many countries all around the globe are experiencing a spike in the cases of covid-19, associated with the omicron variant, which was first reported in Africa in November 2021.

About 100 countries have been affected by this new variant. India alone has reported a total of 1,892 cases of Omicron cases.

THE COVID VARIANT DETECTED IN FRANCE

This new Covid variant detected in France is termed as B.1.640, is detected by the French Researchers, and has been found in less than 1% of the samples in France. It is not yet termed as disastrous nor much contagious or threatening.

This Strain is also termed as IHU because it was discovered at the IHU, Academic Institute in France. WHO has classified and identified this variant as “ A Variant under Monitoring”, in November 2021. However, the virus is not to date classified as risky but has a total of about 46 mutations, which is more than the Omicron Variant.

THE SYMPTOMS Of OMICRON VARIANT

The new Omicron Variant which was discovered last year in November 2021 is more contagious and easily communicable than the deltacron or other variants of covid-19. It was first reported in South Africa, with a big number of people being affected by this variant.

Cases with this variant are on an increase, but the cases of admittance to Hospitals and deaths are lesser. Even, the breathing problems are also lesser compared to the deltacron variant.

A Study by African Scientists concluded that  41.3% of people who tested Covid Positive, visited hospitals were admitted during the Omicron wave as compared to 68-69% of people being admitted during the Deltacron wave.

What has been India’s experience so far?

At AIIMS in New Delhi, Health Minister Satyendra Jain inferred that about 81% of the samples collected at the beginning of January 2022 were samples of the omicron variant. That week, the patients admitted to the hospital didn’t need oxygen support or any severity of symptoms.

The symptoms are also getting resolved in less than a week. Doctors had hardly detected anyone after this variant has affected with damaged lungs.

THE OMICRON SYMPTOMS

The most common symptoms of this variant are fever, cough and cold, tiredness and fatigue, and loss of taste and smell.

The symptoms that were detected in some people were headache and sore throat, associated with diarrhea, some kind of pain in the body, excessive hair fall, and maybe a rash on the skin.

THE NEWLY DETECTED VARIANT-NEO COV

The news came up just yesterday on 28th January 2022, that a new variant of covid19 has been detected by the Wuhan Scientists of China, which was found among the Bat Population of South Africa, previously.

This New Variant, upon mutation for one more time, can penetrate through human cells also, and pose a serious threat to life, as about 1 in 3 people can die due to this variant. WHO is worried about the new variant of this covid 19 virus, NEO COV, and concerned about what the future will be with the onset of this virus among humans.
