Candy Montgomery should have been charged with 2 counts of murder since Betty Gore was pregnant at the time she was murdered. Moreover, the jury verdict of not guilty in this case is illustrative of the problems inherent in our justice and jury system. If Montgomery did, in fact, kill Betty Gore in self defense, then why did she attempt to clean up the crime scene rather than call the police. Moreover, the fact she left the Gore baby by herself without letting anyone know she was without supervision goes directly to her character. How the jury found her not guilty with all the evidence presented is a travesty.
