Vanderburgh County Recent Bookings Evansville
Since the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office began keeping booking records in 1973, the agency has logged more than 2.5 million arrests and detentions. In that time, Evansville has emerged as one of the most popular tourist destinations in Indiana. With its rich history and exciting present, Vanderburgh County is a top destination for visitors from all over the United States and beyond.
Given its popularity, it’s no wonder that the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office has seen a recent uptick in bookings. In 2017, the agency logged 1,028 arrests and detentions – an increase of 41 percent from 694 bookings in 2016. The majority of these arrests (1,007 out of 1,028) were made in the city of Evansville itself.
What’s driving this increase in booking activity? It’s likely a result of several factors. For one, Evansville is a relatively safe city to live in – according to NeighborhoodScout, it has one of the lowest crime rates in Indiana. Additionally, with attractions like the Iowa State Fair just minutes away, there are plenty of reasons to visit Evansville on a regular basis. And last but not least, Evansville is a great place to work
