Police say 49-year-old Christina Morris shot and killed her husband, 38-year-old Mark Morris, before turning the gun on herself. Officials say Christina Morris had been a teacher with the Central York School District since 2007. In a statement, the Central York School District says they are “heartbroken” by the loss of their colleague and friend.

How Were the Suspect(s) Arrested?

On May 9, 2019, shortly before 8 PM, Spring Garden Borough Police were called to a home in the 200 block of Witherspoon Street for a report of a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, they found the body of 51-year-old Christopher G. Davis Sr., the teacher from Central York School District who resided at the address, with apparent gunshot wounds.

The victim’s wife, 49-year-old Tammy L. Davis, was also found at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds and subsequently pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation revealed that Christopher G. Davis Sr. had been fatally shot by his wife, then killed himself with a gun he had taken from her when she began to recover from her injuries.

The suspects were identified as Tammy L. Davis’ 26-year-old son, Christopher G. Davis Jr., and 27-year-old Ashley Nicole Kline of Spring Garden Borough. Christopher G. Davis Jr.’s bail has been set at $2 million; Kline’s bail has been set at $1 million.

Central York School District Learns of the Tragedy

On Friday, March 9, the Central York School District learned of the tragedy that took place in Spring Garden on Wednesday, March 6. According to reports, 58-year-old Paula Ziegler was killed by her 49-year-old husband in a murder-suicide.

Investigators believe that Ziegler was also the victim of domestic violence. Ziegler was a teacher in the Central York School District for 18 years, most recently working as a teacher’s aide at Hickory Ridge Middle School.
