We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Katie Spikes, who passed away on April 9, 2021. Katie ‍was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, friend, and mentor. Through her ⁣example,⁤ she‌ left a ⁣lasting ⁢impression on all ​those⁤ who had the pleasure of knowing her.



Katie was born in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1941 to Robert and⁤ Martha Spikes. She attended Iowa State University, ‌where she earned both ​her⁢ undergraduate and master’s degree. After ‌college, she took a job as⁤ a social worker⁤ with the ⁢St. Louis County Department of Public Services. From there, she went on ‍to become Director of Social Services at Central Missouri Community College.



Katie was passionate about helping​ people and dedicated ​her life to doing just that. Over ‌the years, she mentored countless students, both⁤ in college and in her community, inspiring them ⁣to follow ⁢their dreams ⁤and never give up on themselves.



In addition to ⁣her inspiring words, Katie was also well known for her kind and generous spirit. She always had a smile on her face and ‍was quick​ to lend ⁣an ear ‌and offer advice to whoever‍ needed it. She was a‌ true ⁣beacon⁤ of love and ‌light, and her presence will be greatly missed.



Katie is survived ‍by her two children, four grandchildren,​ and numerous friends ⁢and‍ family.
