Shad Roundy of Burns, Oregon
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Shad Roundy of Burns, Oregon on June 28th, 2020, aged 79. Shad was born in Charbonnet, Louisiana on October 7th, 1941 and moved with his family to California until eventually settling in Oregon in 1971.
Shad was a kind and generous man who was a beloved father, grandfather, and husband. He enjoyed gardening and enjoyed many years working at his family’s bakery in Oregon. He also showed his love for the future generations by investing in an education fund for his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Roundy; two sons, Bob and Jamie Roundy; four grandchildren, Kacey, Adam, Taylor, and Evan Roundy. He is also survived by four siblings, Emily, Joshua, Tom, and Liz Roundy. During this time of mourning, the family is asking for donations to the Oregon Education Fund to continue Shad’s legacy for future generations.

The world was shocked to learn of the sudden passing of Shad Roundy, beloved husband and father of two, on Tuesday, October 26th. Shad was born in 1978 to Danny and Patricia Roundy and grew up in Riverton, Utah.
Shad was an avid outdoorsman, a lover of sports, and a loyal friend to anyone who was lucky enough to know him. His greatest passions were spending time with family and friends, fishing, camping, hunting, skiing, and playing basketball. But what he enjoyed most was being alongside his children, teaching them the joys of life.
Throughout his life, Shad was an incredibly hard worker, graduating from the University of Utah with a degree in civil engineering. He was employed for many years by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, where he made great strides to improve the infrastructure of bridge building and road construction. His dedication to his career was unwavering, but he never forgot where his priorities lay present, the joy he had from his family never wavered.
Though Shad was only 42 years old, he made a lasting contribution to everyone he met, inspiring those around him with his kindness, wit, and positive outlook on life. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and extend a kind word. His presence in the lives of his family and friends will be deeply missed.
Shad was preceded in death by his father Danny Roundy. He is survived by his mother Patricia Roundy, wife Jenny Roundy, and children Tyler and Abigail.
A celebration of Shad’s life will be held on Friday, November 6th at 6 pm at Woodland Park in Riverton, Utah. Friends and family are invited to join in this celebration of Shad’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Shad’s name to any organization that supports children and families, as this was what moving him most.
He will be greatly missed, but Shad’s impact to those who were touched by his life will forever shine. May he rest in peace.
