It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ron Sexton, on July 19th, 2020, after a brief but valiant struggle with illness. Ron was a beloved father, husband, grandfather, and friend to all who knew him.
Ron was born on May 16th, 1945 in Marietta, Georgia to Lora and Stewart Sexton. He began life with his parents and his five siblings, Janice, David, Shelby, Buffy and Hank.
Ron attended Marietta High School, then followed in his father’s footsteps, joining the Navy to serve his country. During his time in the Navy, Ron traveled the world and dedicated himself to excellence, climbing the ranks to the position of Chief Machinist Mate.
Upon returning to civilian life, Ron began a successful career as a construction engineer for the Department of Defense, working his way up the ladder and fostering relationships with his fellow workers that would last a lifetime.
Ron was also an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing, hunting, and camping with his family. He was never without stories of his adventures as he shared the beauty of nature with his kids and grandkids.
Above all, Ron was a devoted family man. He and his wife, Sally, were married for over 50 years and raised three beautiful children – Paul, Christine and Danielle.
